In this 3 hr class you will learn how to sew with stretchy fabrics. You will be guided on how to pick your size, read a sewing pattern and how to successfully sew with knit fabrics.
The pattern used is the Southbank Sweater and Sweater Dress by Nina Lee London which is a cosy yet stylish knit pattern designed to become a winter wardrobe workhorse! With a slightly slouchy fit, funnel neck and drop-shoulders.
Version 1 – Dress, Version 2 – Sweater, Version 3 – Cropped Sweater
Confident Beginner (you will know the basics of using a sewing machine)
UK size 6-20 (Bust (32-46″), Waist (24-38″), Hip (33-47.5″))
The pattern has 3 variations with versions 1 and 3 requiring a stable medium-heavy weight knit fabric, however, version 2 can be made with a lighter weight knit fabric. You will need to bring along with you to the class:
Version 1 (150cm wide) – 1.6-2.0 metres
Version 1 (115cm wide) – 2.2-2.8 metres
Version 2 (150cm wide) – 1.4-1.5 metres
Version 2 (115cm wide) – 1.6-2.5 metres
Version 3 (150cm wide) – 1.2-1.3 metres
Version 3 (115cm wide) – 1.4-1.8 metres
